We can conceive of the new Journal of Extreme Events as a current and future guidebook to adaptive transformation. It provides "policy-relevant" understanding of the new modes of action needed to respond to the growing challenges of our times. Just as with The Prince, scholars and stakeholders alike will turn to it for timely insights and information on changing climate risks. The journal is an important effort, of great interest to the growing global community of experts and decision-makers whose functions are now co-mingling $dash$ to not just respond to, but prepare for extreme events, both now and as they evolve in the years to come.
