Recently, Basler has presented in this journal, evidence concerning the solar M-regions and concludes that they are "definitely not identical with centers of activity." Part of his evidence concerns inferences of particle velocities from apparent Sun-Earth travel times and I wish to comment briefly on this aspect of the problem.
