Venus Science Today, 2020

A "Mini-Zoom" conference co-hosted remotely by the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and the Akatsuki Science Team: August 31 - September 3, 2020.

Purpose:

To discuss Venus research either submitted or published in the previous 12 months. The conference will take place over 4 days, but only 2 hours per day. This will allow live simultaneous participation from scientists in Europe, the USA and East Asia:

  • 06:00 - 08:00 USA West Coast (Los Angeles)
  • 09:00 - 11:00 USA East Coast (New York City)
  • 15:00 - 17:00 Central European Time (Berlin)
  • 22:00 - 00:00 Japan Standard Time (Tokyo)

There will be 4 theme categories:
Monday August 31, 2020: High atmosphere/exosphere/plasma environment
Tuesday September 1, 2020: Lower atmosphere/climate/fluid dynamics/clouds
Wednesday September 2, 2020: Surface/volcanism/tectonics
Thursday September 3, 2020: Mantle Dynamics


Contributed Talks:

If you would like to submit a 20 minute contributed talk in one of the themes above please visit our contributed talk and registration page

Deadline for contributed talk submission is 24 August 2020 midnight US Eastern Time.

We welcome dialogue and those who only want to listen in and communicate without giving a talk are very welcome!
All talks will be recorded and placed on the conference website unless requested otherwise by the speaker.

Registration and Fees:

There is no registration fee for the conference, although we do request that you register your desire to participate if you want to receive the conference Zoom link.
