Venus Science Today, 2020

A "Mini-Zoom" conference co-hosted remotely by the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and the Akatsuki Science Team: August 31 - September 3, 2020.

Purpose:

To discuss Venus research either submitted or published in the previous 12 months. The conference took place over four days, but only 2 hours per day. This allowed live simultaneous participation from scientists in Europe, the USA and East Asia:

  • 06:00 - 08:00 USA West Coast (Los Angeles)
  • 09:00 - 11:00 USA East Coast (New York City)
  • 15:00 - 17:00 Central European Time (Berlin)
  • 22:00 - 00:00 Japan Standard Time (Tokyo)

There were four theme categories:
Monday, August 31, 2020: High atmosphere/exosphere/plasma environment
Tuesday, September 1, 2020: Lower atmosphere/climate/fluid dynamics/clouds
Wednesday, September 2, 2020: Surface/volcanism/tectonics
Thursday, September 3, 2020: Mantle dynamics
