Insights in aerosol-cloud interactions gained in the past five months Johannes Quaas, University of Leipzig A few new results will be presented that were developed - in collaboration with colleagues in Leipzig, at GISS and elsewhere - over the past five months of my research semester at GISS on the topic of aerosol-cloud interactions. These cover five topics, namely (i) the effective radiative forcing in the terrestrial spectrum; (ii) a satellite-/reanalysis-based analysis of the sensitivity of ice crystals to sulfate aerosol, (iii) the change in cloudiness with AOD via droplet concentration changes, (iv) the sensitivity of clouds to aerosol perturbations as simulated for stratocumulus, and (v) considerations about CALIPSO aerosol diagnostics in models.
