How to Evaluate a Model

Focusing on climate models, some basic ideas for aspects of its performance that 
should be evaluated as a foundation are described. Then taking the perennial 
example of cloud processes in such a model, some more specific suggestions are 
outlined. The goal is to stimulate thinking about how to solve this problem.
