Field Experiments I Have Known And Loved Brian Cairns, Jacek Chowdhary, Fabien Waquet, Kirk Knobelspiesse, Michael Mishchenko, Larry Travis In preparing for a satellite mission it is invaluable to have airborne remote sensing measurements that can be used to rigorously evaluate assumptions and approximations that are made in trying to estimate geophysical quantities from the observed radiances. In this brief talk I will try to explain what the value of a number of different field experiments has been to us here at GISS in preparing for the planned launch of the Glory mission in June 2009.
