Research Interests:
My research focuses on the fluid motions of the atmosphere and ocean and how they affect the distribution of natural trace gases and industrial pollutants. One application of this work is the uptake and storage of industrial carbon by the ocean. I am part of a team developing interactive carbon cycles for the GISS climate model. Recently, I've also been studying tropical cyclones and climate, in particular developing statistical models of tropical cyclones to elucidate changes in hurricane landfall risk.
