New York Workshop on Computer, Earth, and Space Sciences 2011
The second New York Workshop on Computer, Earth, and Space Sciences was held at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies on February 24-25, 2011.
The Official Agenda lists the speakers and presentation titles and includes links to the abstracts, presentation slides and videos.
To bring the New York area's finest astronomers, statisticians, computer scientists, space and Earth scientists together to explore potential synergies between our respective fields. The workshop will also include authors from an upcoming book on Advances in Machine Learning and Data Mining for Astronomy .
This is the second time we've run an interdisciplinary workshop to bring people of different backgrounds together. Please see the previous CESS 2009 workshop webpage for the kinds of talks given two years ago.
One of our organizers also used to run a similar series at NASA/Ames Research Center in the heart of Silicon Valley. For an idea of the kinds of talks presented at that time please view the two most recent workshops: ROSES 2006 and ROSES 2005.
