Internships

The NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) offers a limited number of internships opportunites to high school, undergraduate and graduate students who reside within a 50-mile radius of the institute, which is located in the Upper West Side-Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York City. The application period for summer 2016 internship opportunities at GISS closed on March 1, 2016.

Most student internships at NASA GISS are currently managed through the Climate Change Research Initiative (CCRI). Teams of high school and undergraduate students and faculty work alongside graduate students and the lead scientists of NASA-funded research projects at universities in the New York City metropolitan region or at NASA/GISS under the mentorship of a GISS scientist.

Interested students can apply for future GISS internship opportunities at intern.nasa.gov. To apply for internship opportunities at NASA GISS, students must be US citizens and currently enrolled in a formal education program of study with a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Information regarding international student eligibility requirements to apply for internship programs at other NASA facilities can be found at: https://intern.nasa.gov/non-us-opportunities/.
